ESG is a newer, less invasive alternative to gastric sleeve surgery. Instead of removing part of your stomach, your doctor passes a thin, flexible tube (an endoscope) through your mouth and places a row of stitches along the inside of your stomach. Those stitches fold the stomach into a smaller, sleeve-shaped pouch.
The result: you feel full faster, eat less, and lose weight.
The procedure takes about an hour, is done under sedation, and requires no hospital stay.
